Gryphons
The Gryphon faction is comprised of the allied monarchies of Lyonesse and Estragales, based to the south of the Heartlands. The mountainous island of Lyonesse lies west of the arable plains of Estragales. United under the ideals of the ancestor Charlemagne, the two monarchs delegate a hero from either nation to stand as Lord General to protect and guide the twinned nations under one banner. Despite the faction’s vehement contempt for all aspects of Unlife, most other races are represented amongst the Gryphon populace; there is a mutual respect for the various cultures and creeds that constitute Gryphon society.
Charlemagne himself appointed Lord Emilio Domingo as religious leader of the Gryphon nation; with the future king of Lyonesse under the ward-ship of parties unknown and King Carlos of Estragales convalescing from a long-term illness, the Ducal council bowed to Charlemagne's guidance and appointed Lord Domingo as Lord Gryphon. Once the targets of the darker nations of the Heartlands due to the nation’s stance against Unlife, the Gryphons otherwise sit diplomatically on the world's fence.
Lord Gryphon - Emilio Domingo
Emilio Domingo was born the first son of the Duc de Braga, one of the few remaining ancestral seats in Gryphon lands. His youth was spent learning the ways of nobility; he was one of the youngest commanders in the Gryphon armies. Rising quickly through the ranks, many thought Emilio would forsake his ancestral seat for military glory. After the death of his father, Emilio's sense of duty saw him return to Braga as Duke Domingo. Caring for the people of Braga with the same just hand as his father, Duke Domingo maintained his support of the Gryphon military and was often called upon as an adviser in military matters. After the cataclysm, the previous Lord General stepped down and the ancestor Charlemagne visited the Gryphon people to appoint Emilio Domingo as the true spiritual leader of the Gryphon Nation. With this blessing, the nobles of both nations agreed to appoint Lord Emilio Domingo as Lord Gryphon.
Lord Chancellor - Duc Norris de Nuova Roma
"Spiky" Norris, so called for the spines his glamour once displayed, is a forest fae from Taureanna in south-central Estragales. Often travelling with the Elven Alliance, Norris worked in the Gryphon diplomatic core for several years. His travels and travails with the Gryphon nation have developed in him a strong bond with many of the diverse groups in the Gryphons. Instrumental in strengthening relations with the neighbouring nation of Teutonia, Norris was appointed Duc de Nuova Roma by the previous Lord General, Lady Ash Darkglade.
Known to friends and subjects alike as “Spiky” Norris (for the spines that he used to sport), he now styles himself after the fae of Teutonia. His valued insights and world knowledge have set him as a trusted adviser to the Lord Gryphon as well as a respected member of the Gryphon Noble Council.
